Attractions
Situated centrally between Tampa Bay and Orlando, Treasure Island is ideally located for daytrips to Florida’s best known attractions, from Walt Disney World® to SeaWorld. But there are a number of museums, gardens and parks as nearby as St. Petersburg.
Museums
St. Petersburg Museum of History
If you're interested in learning more about the history of St. Petersburg and the Pinellas Peninsula, the St. Petersburg Museum of History offers an unrivaled collection of artifacts, historical photos and documents about the area. Entry fees are $6.00 for general admission, $3.00 for children ages 7 to 17, $5.00 for senior citizens 60 and older. The museum also offers special rates for families as well as free admission on Mondays.

Salvador Dali Museum
St. Petersburg is also home to the Salvador Dali Museum, the largest permanent collection of paintings by the celebrated Spanish Surrealist. With 96 oil works on display, it?s an art connoisseur?s dream and, for the uninitiated, guided tours are available daily. Entry fees are $15 for general admission; $10 for students; and $4 for children.
Gardens
Florida Botanical Gardens
A short distance from Treasure Island in Largo is the Florida Botanical Gardens, an astonishing 182 acres of lush and exotic plant life. Presented in both natural and formal settings, the Gardens include gorgeous birds of paradise, day lilies, irises as well as a topiary garden. As with any garden, this one also features animal life, such as butterflies, blue herons and ospreys. The Gardens are open daily and admission is free.
